A Toledo Area Outdoor Equipment Expert
Owner Sonny Bunde started up the lawn and garden business in 1962 in his father’s service station on Upton & Sylvania Ave. As the business kept growing, the need to find storage became evident.
It was during the blizzard of 1978 in which he found an ideal property on Laskey Road, with the empty space being known as “Wood Products” prior to being purchased.
With customers such as Sealtest Dairy Co.’s fleet of 25 ft. vehicles from the Upton service station spilling over to the newly acquired Laskey Rd. lawn and garden locale, the property quickly had to be remodeled and expanded via a building addition to house an auto service station.
Moving forward, auto service was limited to established customers only as it was necessary to phase out to keep up with the rapidly growing lawn and garden business.
Most notably, space needed to be freed up to make room for installing and services of snow removal equipment, as well as room to assemble the expanding lineup of lawn and garden equipment.
In 1990, the longtime Laskey Rd. location was expanded yet again – as the showroom warehouse was built adjacent to the service area.
Over a quarter century later, the Laskey Rd. showroom and service center have been home to many lines and pieces of new and used equipment from lawn & garden tractors, walk-behind mowers, generators, string trimmers and tillers to snow blowers, chain saws, zero-turn mowers, salt spreaders and snow plows.
